FAQ
-
What is the difference between waxing and sugaring?Waxing uses a warm wax that hardens as it cools to effectively remove hair from the root, while sugaring utilizes a natural sugar paste for the same purpose. In both waxing and sugaring processes, hair is extracted from the follicle, leaving it empty and resulting in smooth, hair-free skin.
-
How long does the hair need to be for waxing or sugaring?Ideally, hair should be at least 1/4 inch long for effective removal. If you have been shaving and are now booking your appointment, avoid shaving for at least two or more weeks before your appointment. The longer your hair is, the smoother and longer-lasting the result will be.
-
Is waxing or sugaring suitable for sensitive skin? Both waxing and sugaring can be gentle on sensitive skin, but sugaring is often recommended for those with sensitivity as it adheres less to the skin.
-
How long does a waxing or sugaring session take? The duration varies based on the area. Generally, sessions can range from 15 minutes for smaller areas to 45 minutes for larger ones.
-
How often should I schedule waxing or sugaring appointments? The recommended frequency for appointments depends on individual hair growth, typically falling within the general guideline of every 4-6 weeks. Consistency is crucial; regular appointments contribute to maintaining smooth, hair-free skin. With sustained routine services, you may observe longer-lasting results. Some clients find that they can maintain their desired results by extending their visits to every 8-12 weeks. Remember, the razor is not your friend!
-
Can I get waxing or sugaring done during my menstrual cycle?Yes, you can still receive treatments during your menstrual cycle. Please inform your esthetician beforehand for any necessary adjustments if you are receiving a brazilian or bikini service.
-
What pre-appointment preparations are recommended for waxing or sugaring?Prior to your appointment, avoid sun exposure, exfoliate the area 24 hours in advance, and ensure your hair is at the recommended length. Additionally, disclose any allergies or skin conditions to your esthetician.
-
What post-treatment care should I follow after waxing or sugaring? For 24 hours post-treatment, refrain from hot baths, sun exposure, and wearing tight clothing. Hydrate the skin with a gentle, non-alcoholic moisturizer.
